07.12.24: Sewing practice room – Design doorstop

The Bauhaus south of Leipzig

As part of the IN FARBE exhibition, Haus Rabe is offering a special workshop: Under the guidance of artist Silke Berg, participants will create unique doorstops inspired by her color-intensive installations. Berg’s motifs and techniques can be creatively implemented in a small format.

Driver artwork at Haus RabeAll the necessary materials – from high-quality fabrics and patterns to filling material and sewing utensils – are provided. Even if you don’t have your own sewing machine, you are welcome to take part, but you are welcome to bring your own. Silke Berg provides exciting insights into her artistic work and accompanies every step of the creative process, from cutting the fabrics to sewing and stuffing.

Workshop leader Silker BergSilke Berg (*1989) is known for her expansive, sculptural installations that explore the potential of colors and shapes and create a unique connection between artwork and space. She studied fine arts and has already been represented at several international exhibitions. Berg’s works explore the relationship between people and objects and invite the public to engage in interactive experiences with art.
